“Security Sector Reform and the Arab Spring”

The Institute of Diplomacy and Conflict Transformation and the Department of Social Science in Byblos in collaboration with the Embassy of the Netherlands is organizing a public lecture on the Security Sector Reform and The Arab Spring.

 

The lecturer, Dr. Sami Faltas, is an internationally acknowledged expert on Security Sector Reform (SSR) and an SSR trainer for the Centre for European Security Studies in the Netherlands, the International Security Sector Advisory Team in Switzerland, and the European Union’s External Action Service in Belgium.

 

In this lecture the speaker will explore the many challenges of SSR, especially in the context of the Arab Spring, and suggest ways of making them more manageable.

 

A video conference will take place in Irwin A, Beirut campus.
