Diabetes Awareness Session

ENG 406, Byblos campus / Business 904, Beirut campus.

The Department of Natural Sciences is organizing a session on Diabetes Awareness, offered by the National Diabetes Organization, DiaLeb, on the occasion of the World Diabetes Day.

The session will include an introduction about DiaLeb, its aims, goals, and upcoming projects, followed by an interactive lecture discussing diabetes and the importance of a healthy dietary and lifestyle habits. A 10- minute Q&A session will allow the participants to raise any questions and inquiries to conclude. After the session, DiaLeb will provide free glucose testing in a stand located outside the lecture room. As the prevalence of diabetes, like other chronic diseases, is on the rise, awareness on how to obtain and maintain optimal states of health becomes more and more crucial; we hope this session will serve to increase our community’s awareness on how to prevent diabetes and in case of diagnosis, how to keep it from progressing.

The session will take place on the Byblos campus on November 13, 2012, at 9 a.m., and on the Beirut campus on November 14, 2012 at 8.30 a.m.

All are welcome to attend.
