USP Award Distribution Ceremony

Irwin Auditorium, Beirut campus

LAU is celebrating the spirit of service of its students under the University Scholarship Program (USP) by organizing the first annual USP Award Ceremony, in the presence of a representative from the U.S.embassy and/or USAID, LAU President Joseph G. Jabbra, Vice President for Student Development and Enrollment Management Elise Salem, and Assistant Vice President for Outreach and Civic Engagement and Program Director Elie Samia.

The USP program is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), to support academically meritorious students who would otherwise be unable to afford pursuing quality higher education in Lebanon. This scholarship requires students to be actively engaged in community service through a community-based project, leadership activities, and volunteering with NGOs in their hometowns.

71 USP students from various cohorts will receive the “Spirit of Service” award from the U.S. Embassy / USAID Representative and President Jabbra for their excellent spirit of service and their readiness to serve their communities.
