Bio: Dr. Nassar holds a PhD from the War Studies Department at King’s College in London. His thesis examined the decision-making of the UN’s mediation efforts in Syria, offering a detailed account of the policies and strategies of Kofi Annan, Lakhdar Brahimi, and Staffan de Mistura in Syria as well as a new method to pinpoint the agency of UN mediators in such sensitive and often clouded positions. In conjunction with his academic research, he was a visiting fellow at Sciences Po Paris and a doctoral fellow at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy.

He has written for the Middle East Institute, the International Peace Institute, Open Democracy, Middle East Eye, and Univision on issues of international relations, US foreign policy, and Middle Eastern politics, and his articles can be found in English and Spanish.
