Phoenician Expedition Crossing the Atlantic

The New York Academic Center is organizing a lecture titled: “Phoenician Expedition Crossing the Atlantic”, co-hosted with the Consul General of Lebanon Majdi Ramadan.

Captain Philip Beale will present on his upcoming expedition to prove that the Phoenicians used a sophisticated navigation system to cross the Atlantic way before Columbus. 

Beale is a retired British navy Captain who, with a team of sailors, is planning to cross the Atlantic on an exact replica of a Phoenician Merchant Ship, to prove that the Phoenicians had the navigational capabilities to reach the Americas around 2000 years before Christopher Columbus. This expedition will take place in September 2017 and will be launched in Gibraltar accosting in different cities before crossing the Atlantic and reaching America.
