Alumni “Bullyproof your Child”

AKSB 904, Beirut campus

As part of its Stay Aware alumni lecture series, the Alumni Relations Office at LAU is organizing a lecture titled: “Bullyproof your Child” by Darine El-Masri, Esq. who has dedicated her life to ensuring the safety of children and families.

Did you know that one in four kids in Lebanon is bullied? What can parents do when their child is a victim of bullying - or is the one doing the bullying? What can educators do if they witness bullying?

Bullying occurs everywhere: at school, in the neighborhood, on the football field. Unfortunately, nearly every child is bullied at some point in their life. These days, with access to the Internet, around 50 percent of all students experience cyber bullying. It is important for parents and educators to know how to help children learn how to avoid being bullied, how to deal with it if it occurs, and how to maintain self-esteem. It is also important to know how to address bullies and their behavior.

A lawyer, entrepreneur, speaker, and expert in child and family safety, Darine El-Masri has leveraged her experience as president of Kidproof Safety for MENA region. Kidproof safety is a Canadian education provider and the world’s most trusted name in child protection, delivering safety education to communities across the region.

  • How to avoid bullying, and what to do if your child or student is being bullied
