The Economics of Health, Environment and Welfare in the Middle East
and North Africa

The School of Business at the Lebanese
American University is holding its Third International Conference
on the Economies of the Middle East and North Africa May 17-19,
2001, in Byblos, Lebanon. The theme of the conference is "The
Economics of Health, Environment and Welfare in the Middle East
and North Africa."
Papers addressing the theme of the conference are solicited. Abstracts
should be submitted by January 31, 2000.
Proposals for complete sessions (three or four papers each) are
also invited. Organizers of proposed sessions should submit abstracts
of papers by December 31, 2000. Papers submitted for the organized
sessions will be considered on an individual basis unless the proposal
specifies that the session be considered in its entirety.
Partial funding for travel and accommodation for the conference
duration is available.
