The presentation will be given by Dr. Andreas Wutz from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

DAAD is offering several scholarship programs for applicants from Lebanon.

  • The focus of its grant programs is on research scholarships for Ph.D. candidates and academic staff. Thus, Ph.D. candidates can apply for full grants, covering the whole period of their Ph.D. studies and research in Germany up to 3 and a half years.
    Deadline: Mid-October
  • Academic researchers can apply for short-term grants (1–3 months).

  • DAAD offers a limited number of scholarships to young professionals. Applicants should hold at least a bachelor’s degree, have at least two years of professional experience in responsible positions, and work in a field with relevance to development such as civil engineering, regional planning, public health etc.
    Deadline: July 31
  • DAAD also provides grants for university excursions: Student groups of up to 15 participants accompanied by an academic tutor can be funded for study visits in Germany. The maximum duration is 12 days.
    Deadline: Mid-October
  • For advanced learners of German as a foreign language who are enrolled at a Lebanese institution of higher education, DAAD offers summer courses of about three weeks in Germany.
    Deadline: January 1

Eligible for these programs are students and staff of Lebanese universities and institutions of higher education who have either Lebanese citizenship or permanent residence status in Lebanon.
