Shell Eco-marathon Workshop

LAU’s Industrial and Mechanical Engineering Department invites you to attend the Shell Eco-marathon workshop, conducted by Norman Koch, Shell’s Engine Expert and Eco-marathon technical leader, in conjunction with Gilbert Merhej, Shell Eco-marathon Lead for the Middle East and Africa.
Shell Eco-marathon is an educational project that challenges competing student teams to design, build and drive the most energy-efficient vehicle. It is a major educational project that encourages and fosters innovation in which students work together to explore potential solutions to both current and future transport and energy challenges.
This workshop is primarily designed to tackle the key challenging elements that ensure successful delivery of the project in accordance to the event’s rules and regulations in addition to ways of maximizing fuel efficiency such as project management, vehicle design, weight and dimensions, safety, engine design, fuels, braking systems and most importantly, the lessons learned over the last 28 years when this challenge was first introduced.
