International Women’s Day

Irwin Hall Auditorium, Beirut campus

The Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World at LAU will mark International Women’s Day with a discussion of the "Challenges ahead: women, activism, social media and the Arab Spring."

A brief documentary film will be presented by journalist Alia Ibrahim, after which the following experts will relate their experiences of the "Arab Spring" and answer questions from the audience:

• Asmaa Mahfouz, Egypt
• Hanaa Al-Sayaghi, Yemen
• Mona El Tahawi, Egypt
• Fatma Riahi, Tunisia

The discussion will be moderated by journalist and author Diana Moukalled.
