1st Study Abroad Day: Outreach and Cultural Exchange Across Nations

The Outreach and Civic Engagement Unit (OCE) is holding the 1st Study Abroad Day at LAU under the name of “OCEAN,” standing for “Outreach and Cultural Exchange Across Nations.”

The event will be held with the participation of the top study abroad destinations in the world; 15 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Germany, Holland, Mexico, Russia, Spain, UK, and the US, will exhibit their cultural exchange and study abroad programs and convey the richness of their cultures. The objective is to identify creative international exchange, study abroad, civic engagement, leadership, and overseas opportunities for our students and for our faculty and staff alike.

The program will be as follows:

11:00 am: Opening Ceremony - Business Building 904

• Lebanese National Anthem
• Welcome Word: Dr. Joseph G. Jabbra (President of LAU)
• OCE Mission: Elie Samia (Executive Director of OCE)
• Introducing the Deans of the Schools: Dr. Elise Salem (VP SDEM)
  • School of Architecture & Design : Dr. Elie Badr
  • School of Arts & Sciences: Dr. Philippe Frossard
  • School of Business: Dr. Said El Fakhani

12:00 - 1:00 pm: Inauguration of the Fair/Entertainment (in front of the Fine Arts bldg.)

4:00 pm: End of the Fair.
