Young Arab Women Leaders: The Voice Of The Future

In collaboration with LAU’s Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World, the Arab International Women’s Forum is hosting an event entitled “Young Arab Women Leaders: The Voice Of The Future” at LAU.
Overview:
The Arab International Women’s Forum (AIWF) organized this event in partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and the Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World at the Lebanese American University.
On 13 May 2011, in London, AIWF and PwC held a very successful seminar titled “Emerging Arab Women Leaders - the Voice of Future.” This event was co-hosted by AIWF and PwC and aimed at assisting young women leaders to further optimize and strenghten their personal business skills and thereby their contribution to the business and the community at large.
The event in Beirut will help young women leaders in understanding the role of gender in shaping the political, economic and social opportunities available to women in the Arab world. Through speakers and participants’ involvement, the conference will shed light on the substantial variation in size of the gaps across countries and areas and the role of economic development and leadership in closing those gaps.
Objectives:
During the conference, prticipants will:
- Support, engage and network with other women in political, economic and social leadership in the Arab world,
- Learn from others about ways of transforming challenges and barriers into success stories and opportunities for development,
- Learn more about qualities leadership; as the next generation of women leaders;
- Share experience and expertise to serve and promote the gender gap concept.
