“Why Nations Fail? The Origins of Power, Prosperity and Poverty”

The LAU Department of Social Sciences and the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies are hosting a lecture by Professor James Robinson on his recent book, co-authored with Professor Daron Acemoglu from MIT, titled “Why Nations Fail? The Origins of Power, Prosperity and Poverty.”
James A. Robinson, a political scientist and an economist, is the David Florence Professor of Government at Harvard University. He is a world renowned expert on Latin America and Africa, and he is currently conducting research in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sierra Leone, Haiti and in Colombia where he has taught for many years during the summer at the University of the Andes in Bogota.
