Role of Arabic in the Media

On the occasion of the International Arabic Day, the Department of Communication Arts and UNESCO are organizing a conference to be held at LAU Beirut. The focus will be on the effect the media has had on Arabic, and whether it promotes or degrades the language. The opening speakers will be the Secretary General of the Lebanese National Commission, Dr. Zuhaida Darwiche Jabbour; Dr. Nashaat Mansour, Interim Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences and Minister of Information Mr. Waleed al Daouk.
