Symposium: “Mobility and Design”

The LAU Department of Architecture and Interior Design is organizing a symposium entitled “Mobility & Design”, in collaboration with the Université de Montréal Faculty of Environmental Design. The event will be part of a series of exchange activities between the two institutions. The symposium will present in-depth studies based on the observation of academic experiments, projects, and will especially focus on the role of interior design.

It will cover various topics in the field of usages, new teaching methods, and challenges for better approaches in the development of living environments. This symposium will also explore the methodologies proposed for the conservation of built heritage, sustainable development and information and communications technologies. Part of the symposium will include the book launch of “Mobility and Design”, from 5:25 - 6:00 p.m. The articles presented in the book allow the comparison of experiences and take stock of not only the tools at our disposal for teaching and practicing interior design, but also of the processes that define the discipline, and the new challenges related to the requirements of sustainable development.
