Alumni “Fit for Business”

Business Building 903, Beirut campus

As part of its “Keep Learning” alumni lectures program, the Alumni Relations Office is organizing for LAU alumni a lecture entitled “Fit for Business – 4 Dimensional Personal Energy”, and would like to extend this invitation to the rest of the LAU community. There will be a Q&A session, and a reception to follow.

Mention the word “achievement,” and we almost always use top athletes as references, for their impressive endurance in the face of injuries, tough conditions, opponents and inner conflicts. It’s indeed inspiring and makes sense.

However, how can we translate it onto our personal and professional lives?
How can we have this sustainable tenacity in the face of our own kind of injuries, tough conditions, opponents and inner conflicts?
These are not as clearly defined as the top athletes’. Subsequently, our job is actually tougher, as it goes beyond physical endurance!

Fit for Business is a lecture inspired by a workshop concept developed by mynditude® about our 4-dimensional fitness: physical, but also mental, emotional/social, and spiritual fitness.
What are they? How can we earn them? And why should we, anyway?

Be Warned! The event will not be a mere conceptual speech. Rather, you will be 4 dimensionally engaged, you will think about and challenge self.
We will discuss the gap between “knowing” and “doing.”
We will talk about the “why I do what I do?” and “why many times I don’t do what I really desire to do?”

FIT for BUSINESS is a thought-provoking lecture delivered by Amr Habbal, who previously delivered the “I Like You AND I Am Not Like You” lecture last year.
Amr is the founder of mynditude®, which has Fortune 500, regional and local partners like: Danone Baby Nutrition, Kraft, BAT, Roche, Merck MSD, Nivea, Evian, Karl Storz, Medtronic, Merck Serono, Al Rostamani, USAID, Impact BBDO, JWT, Mediacom, FDC, Initiative Media etc. all over the Middle East & Africa.

Before launching mynditude® in 2011, Habbal had a diversified career in marketing, sales, business development and advertising.
Mr. Habbal attended executive courses in Harvard Business School and INSEAD, is a Certified Executive Coach from the University of Strathclyde, a member of the International Coach Federation, and is an accredited MBTI® practitioner.

While in LAU, he played for the basketball varsity team and was chosen twice as Most Valuable Player. He graduated in 1998.
