“The Jobless Trap in the U.S.”

New York Academic Center

In the views of LAU Alumnus Rand Ghayad, research advisor to the Institute for Career Transitions at MIT Sloan School of Management, long-term unemployment has become a human crisis never experienced in any of the previous recessions and should be at the top of the U.S. agenda.

In his upcoming talk, Ghayad will examine the role of discrimination in making it nearly impossible for job seekers with long unemployment spells to land jobs. He will also talk about the role of government in helping the most vulnerable in society and the options that are left before a dip into a depression. More information.

The event is organized by the LAU New York Academic Center and the New Jersey Alumni Chapter.
