Native Middle Eastern Minority Communities and the Challenges they Face

The Program in History in the Department of Humanities is hosting a panel discussion entitled “Native Middle Eastern Minority Communities and the Challenges they Face,” with lectures to be given by three faculty members:
- Dr. Habib Malik, History Program, Department of Humanities: “Native Christian Communities and Other Beleaguered Minorities: Thinking Outside the Box”
- Dr. Selim Deringil, History Program, Department of Humanities: “The ‘step citizens’ of Turkey: Armenians and Greeks 1923-1960”
- Dr. Sami E. Baroudi, Department of Social Sciences: “Are Lebanon’s Maronites losing their Political Relevance?”
The panel will be moderated by Dr. Vahid Behmardi from the Department of Humanities.
All are welcome to attend.
The event will be available in Irwin B on the Beirut campus and through video-conferencing in Science 607-608 on the Byblos campus.
