Chemistry Summer Learning Camp 2015

The Department of Natural Sciences, as part of an initiative by the School of Arts and Sciences, is organizing a Chemistry Summer Learning Camp from Monday June 29 till Friday July 3.

This camp aims to introduce high school students to the area of applied chemistry and its importance in everyday applications and products through hands-on experiments led by chemistry faculty. It will also build upon the previous successes of similar Chemistry camps organized by Ahmad Kabbani, Professor of Chemistry at LAU. 

The sessions will consist of brief background lectures followed by experimental work including synthesis of Aspirin, analysis of antacids and light energy storage, among others.

The ultimate objective of this camp is for students to enjoy learning chemistry and to appreciate the importance of chemistry in everyday products and processes.
