Byblos, Culture and Modernity
Chagoury Health Sciences Center Auditorium, Byblos campus
The Urban Planning Institute at the Lebanese American University in collaboration with GAIA-Heritage is organizing a symposium titled “Byblos: History, Culture and Modernity”.
Historians, researchers and specialists from other Mediterranean cities and universities will gather to discuss the problematics of various Mediterranean cities, under the following thematics:
1. The Mediterranean City: Culture and Modernity
2. Byblos in History
3. Byblos Transformations: Urban Interventions and the Evolution of the City
A roundtable will follow at the end of the symposium to make specific recommendations to the Municipality of Byblos, in order to meet the challenges facing the historic town, in the midst of contemporary transformations.
