Estimating the Cost of Violence Against Women in the Arab Region

In commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence ESCWA Centre for Women (ECW), the Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World (IWSAW) at LAU, UN-Women Regional Office for the Arab States, and ABAAD-Resource Centre for Gender Equality are organizing a panel discussion on “Estimating the Cost of Violence Against Women in the Arab Region”.
The panel discussion will feature a discussion (in English) on estimating the cost of violence against women in the Arab region to be moderated by Dr. Lina Abirafeh, Director of the Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World. The discussion aims raising awareness and galvanizing action to ensure safe spaces for all. The discussants will include Mr. Mohamed Naciri, Regional Director of UN-Women Arab States Office; Dr. Mehrinaz El Awady, Director of ECW and Ms. Ghida Anani, Founder and Director of ABAAD.
