Formal/Informal on Beirut River Sides

The Department of Architecture & Interior Design at SArD is organizing a workshop titled: “Formal/Informal on Beirut River Sides”, a joint workshop between Kent State University and Lebanese American University, coordinated by Taraneh Meshkani and Hala Younes.
Beirut River is a territory of multiple challenges. This intensive workshop will examine through fieldwork and data collection the different patterns of settlement along the riversides. The focus will be placed on the informal extensions happening beyond Jisr el Bacha so as to imagine a more interactive relation with the river.
