Populism vs. Democracy

The Department of Social Sciences is organizing a lecture by Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh on Populism vs. Democracy.

Bio: Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh is widely recognized as a philanthropic businessman at the leading edge of change. As founder and chairman of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), he has built up an international company operating out of 110 offices to become a formidable global provider of professional and educational services.

He was one of the early enthusiasts and proponents of the Internet and related information and communication technologies (ICTs), serving on the United Nations Information and Communication Technologies Task Force. His pioneering work has been recognized by the United Nations, World Trade Organization and the International Chamber of Commerce, with chairmanships to advisory boards and working groups charged with helping to shape the future. 

Born in Jaffa, Palestine, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh received his Bֺachelor of Science in Business Administration from the American University of Beirut and has five Hֺonorary PhDs: Canisius College, Buffalo, USA, Bethlehem University, Palestine, Mutah University, Jordan, Jerash University, Jordan and the Lebanese American University.
