COVID-19: Can We Send Our Children to Schools?

Online via Webex

The SARS-CoV2 virus and related COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in shutdown of schools and workplaces throughout the world. As the pandemic evolves and cities work to return to normal activities, guidance on how to safely open schools and keep them open and effective is not clear. Infection and disease characteristics among children are still unclear, as is the risk of potential asymptomatic transmission from children to adults. The extent of disease manifestations among children are also not well known. However, fundamental adherence to public health practices designed to mitigate infection are reasonably well-known and can be implemented both in school and the workplace.

This Grand Round is designed to all healthcare professionals. Dr. Wakim will discuss the transmission of SARS-CoV2 in school and work settings and the current tools used to mitigate the risk of transmission in these settings.
