Bio
Dr. Nawaf Salam has been a judge on the International Court of Justice since February 2018. Formerly, he taught political science at the American University of Beirut, and later served as Lebanon’s ambassador to the United Nations between 2007 and 2017. In this capacity, he represented Lebanon in 2010 and 2011 in the Security Council and held the Council’s presidency twice. He holds a Doctorat d’Etat from Sciences-Po Paris, a PhD in History from the Sorbonne and a Master of Laws from Harvard University. Dr. Salam published numerous books and articles on Lebanon, the Arab world, and international law.
