This webinar will allow all healthcare providers and researchers to have a general idea on all the genetic diseases already described in the Lebanese population and to quickly have access to the various references and publications. A link to the data of other Arab countries is possible, allowing rapid determination of the frequency of a disease in the Arab world.
Biographies:
Pratibha Nair is a Senior Researcher at the Centre for Arab Genomic Studies, where she has been working for the past 16 years. She completed her Masters in Biotechnology from the Cochin University of Science and Technology. Pratibha’s work at CAGS involves collection of data for and curation of the CTGA Database, publishing articles on genetic disorders, for research as well as for the general public, and organizing conferences, workshops, and webinars on genetic disorders for professionals.
Sami Bizzari is a database curator and researcher working at the Centre for Arab Genomic Studies (CAGS). He graduated with a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from King’s College London and an MSc in Human Genetics from Imperial College London. At CAGS, his work contribution involves the growth of the CTGA database, authoring publications focused on genetic disorders in Arabs, as case reports, reviews, and meta-analyses, as well as organizing conference and course events such as the Pan Arab Human Genetics Conference and CAGS Webinar Series.
