Graphic Design Workshop for Highschoolers

Saturday, March 4 and Saturday, March 11

LAU Beirut Campus and LAU Byblos Campus

Grades 10 and 11 interested in studying graphic design at LAU are invited to join our hands-on workshop. This is a valuable chance to be part of a group and be a creator for one day and win a scholarship. Students do not need to have a prior experience in graphic design.

Workshop objectives
  • Provide an introduction to visual communication and the use of letterforms and graphic elements to convey ideas and messages.
  • Teach the basics of motion graphics and 2D animation to tell a story.
Emotive Graphics
This is a brief introduction into the world of graphic design, through hands on understanding of the workflow from ideation to execution. Participant’s will be creating graphics and placing them in a sequence of frames, in order to create an illusion of motion that expresses an idea, a quote, or a phrase. The final outcome will be in the form of a take away GIF.

The workshop will begin at 9 AM and will wrap-up at 5 PM. From 5 to 6 PM a review panel consisting of faculty members from the School of Architecture and Design will evaluate the work selecting the best three. These students will be awarded scholarships covering 10, 15, and 20% of the students’ tuition fees when they join the Graphic Design program at LAU.
