The 19th National Public Speaking Competition
LAU Beirut Campus - Wadad Sabbagh Khoury Student Center - Room 201
After a 5-year hiatus, LAU’s Department of Communication, Arts and Languages in collaboration with the English-Speaking Union (ESU) Lebanon Chapter invite you to take part in the 19th National Public Speaking Competition on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
The event attracts all accredited universities in Lebanon, typically drawing fifteen institutions with two contestants each.
The theme for this year is “There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so”.
To participate, individuals must be Lebanese nationals under 21 years old and are required to prepare a 5-minute speech interpreting the theme in their own unique way. A panel of judges then selects one winner, who is later sponsored by ESU Lebanon to travel to London and compete in the International Public Speaking Competition at Dartmouth House from May 13 to 17, 2024. This winner eventually competes against representatives from 50 other ESU branches worldwide.
