The aim of this Grand Round is to explore the unique challenges and necessary adaptations for managing skin diseases, particularly infectious skin diseases, in displaced people and conflict zones. The impact of disrupted healthcare infrastructure, medication shortages, and the psychological stress of war on skin disease will be highlighted. Strategies such as mobile clinics, and clinics in schools to support patients under these extreme conditions, emphasizing the need for sustainable, collaborative efforts to ensure consistent infectious skin disease management in crisis settings will be discussed. Treatment and prevention of the most commonly seen skin manifestation in displaced people will be addressed. 

Biography:

Dr. Ahmad Berjawi is a medical and cosmetic dermatologist renowned for his expertise and compassionate patient care. Dr. Berjawi completed his Dermatology residency at the Lebanese American University and his Internal Medicine residency at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. This dual training has uniquely equipped Dr. Berjawi to provide comprehensive care for a wide range of dermatological and medical conditions, seamlessly integrating his extensive knowledge of internal medicine. He has a robust portfolio of published research in medical journals and is an active member in multiple dermatologic societies.
