Amidst multiple transnational crises, global governance has retaken center stage in academic and public debates. Based on a survey experiment on more than 42,000 citizens in 17 countries in the global South, North, East and West, Dr. Markus Pauli will discuss the findings and different perspectives towards this possibility.

The talk will explain who wants a democratic world government and why.

    Markus Pauli

    Assistant Professor in Political Science, Dublin City University

    Dr. Markus Pauli has held positions at Yale-NUS, the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore Management University (SMU), and Heidelberg University, Germany. He studied at the Free University, Berlin, and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

    Joseph P. Helou
    Assistant Professor, Department of Political and International Studies

    Dr. Joseph P. Helou is an assistant professor of political science and international affairs at the Lebanese American University. He has previously held lecturer positions at LAU and other academic institutions where he taught globalization, international political economy, the politics of the global south and Middle East politics, among others.
