The objective of this lecture is twofold:
- It seeks to initiate learners to explore the linkages between AI and politics
- It incites them to think scientifically and critically about AI applications and their implications on political systems, as well as their roles in political communication.
This lecture builds on established knowledge in political communication by exploring how new modes of communication through AI applications and AI-processed data, the role of algorithms and biases have real-world impacts. Ultimately, the talk seeks to explore how AI applications can help fight and filter disinformation through case studies and applied initiatives.
