On the occasion of Europe Day, Ms. Alessandra Viezzer, head of cooperation at the Delegation of the European Union to Lebanon, will deliver a special talk highlighting the EU’s partnerships and initiatives in Lebanon. The session will provide students with an in-depth look at the EU’s role in promoting sustainable development, democratic governance, and youth empowerment in Lebanon.
Ms. Viezzer will also share insights into the EU’s broader foreign policy priorities, cooperation frameworks in the region and opportunities for academic and civic engagement. The talk will be followed by an open Q&A to foster dialogue on international cooperation and the role of youth in shaping a more inclusive future.

Khalil Gebara
Lecturer, LAUDr. Gebara is recognized as a trusted advisor, policymaker and civil society advocate specializing in governance, local development, and public policy. His extensive professional journey includes roles as an academic, researcher and trainer. He has coordinated aid and donor support, conducted comprehensive research, organized advanced training courses, and engaged in high-level policy dialogues with governments, the private sector, and international organizations.
He holds a PhD in Middle Eastern Political Economy from Exeter University in the United Kingdom, and served as a World Bank Consultant from March 2020 to June 2024. Previously, he served as an International Affairs and Policy Advisor to the Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities from February 2014 to January 2019.
