Major Production “أبو الزوس”

December 1 and 2, 2025 (8:00 PM) December 10-13, 2025 (8:00 PM)

LAU Beirut Campus, Gulbenkian Theater

The English and Creative Arts department at LAU’s School of Arts and Sciences presents Abou El Zeus, a play written by Woody Allen and directed by Assistant Professor Lina Khoury.

About the Play

A writer and an actor try to come up with a suitable ending for their play, but…

Abou El Zeus tackles existential themes and poses serious philosophical questions in a satirical and comic way, blending realism with the absurd, the epic with the farcical, and the logical with the irrational. Are we able to realize the meaning of our lives in the midst of all this chaos? What is the role of art? And can it provide us with real answers?

All the cast, designers, managers and technicians in Abou El Zeus are LAU Alumni, graduates of the Communication Arts, Theater, Television and Film, and Fine Arts programs. They are: Tarek Tamim, Sany Abdul Baki, Wafaa Celine Halawi, Talal El Jurdi, Marwan Tarraf, Elie F.
