Call for Abstracts – Symposium on the Future of Biology: Integrating Technology and Life Sciences

The Department of Biological Sciences at LAU’s School of Arts and Sciences invites researchers, practitioners, and students to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations at the Symposium on the Future of Biology: Integrating Technology and Life Sciences.
This symposium will provide a platform to reflect on emerging directions in the life sciences, highlighting how biological knowledge, evolving research approaches, and selective technological advances are collectively shaping the future of the field. Contributions from all areas of biology are welcome, particularly those that address:
• Fundamental and applied biological research advancing our understanding of living systems
• Interdisciplinary perspectives that connect biology with complementary fields
• Emerging tools, including digital approaches and artificial intelligence, that support biological research
and understanding
• Translational and therapeutic approaches informed by biological insight
• Methodological, conceptual, or educational advances with relevance to health, environment, or society
Abstract Requirements
• Align with the symposium theme
• Be no longer than 300 words
• Include Background, Objectives, Methods, Key Findings, and Significance
• Indicate preference for oral or poster presentation (final assignment may vary)
Important Dates
• Early Submission Deadline: February 20, 2026
• Late Submission Deadline: March 20, 2026
• Notification of Acceptance: Within 2–3 weeks of submission deadline
• Registration Deadline: April 1, 2026
• Symposium Dates: April 28–29, 2026 – Beirut Campus
Submission & Review
Abstracts will be peer reviewed by the Scientific Committee based on relevance, scientific merit, innovation, and clarity. Accepted submissions will be assigned to oral or poster sessions.
