The LAU Alumni London Chapter is hosting a Solidarity Dinner on March 27, 2026.
This year’s gathering carries particular significance. Even during challenging times affecting our region, LAU and its global community remain committed to the values that unite us: solidarity, peace, and shared progress. Coming together as alumni, partners, and friends is a powerful reminder that collective action can help sustain hope and drive meaningful change.
The evening will be held in the presence of LAU President Chaouki T. Abdallah and in honor of Ms. Roula Khalaf, editor of the Financial Times. It will feature a special musical performance by tenor Bechara Moufarrej and accompanying musicians.
Through this gathering, LAU aims to support the mission of the Arab Institute for Women (AiW), which works at the intersection of academia and activism to advance gender equality in Lebanon and across the Arab region.
Your generosity and support will contribute to the following initiatives:
Honoring Women Pioneers: Research and storytelling initiatives documenting the lives and achievements of unsung heroines who paved the way for women through the Honoring Our Own campaign.
Advancing Women’s Political Participation: AiW will focus on advancing women’s engagement in political life. This initiative will support the creation of a podcast and video series highlighting the experiences, challenges, and leadership journeys of women in politics, while fostering dialogue on the importance of women’s representation in decision-making spaces.
Strengthening Gender Equality in Public Institutions: Capacity-building for gender focal points at the National Commission for Lebanese Women and across public institutions through the Gender in Development and Humanitarian Assistance (GDHA) and the Capacity to Collect Data on Violence against Women programs.
