This grand round is organized by the Office of Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development at the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine.
Synopsis
By the end of this grand round, participants will be able to describe current evidence-based guidelines for the diagnosis and management of hypertension, including risk stratification and treatment targets; identify challenges in managing hypertension in complex patient populations, including those with diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and resistant hypertension; apply individualized, evidence-based pharmacologic strategies, including appropriate medication selection and combination therapy; recognize factors contributing to suboptimal blood pressure control, such as medication non-adherence, polypharmacy, and clinical inertia; and integrate multidisciplinary approaches to improve blood pressure control and reduce overall cardiovascular risk in clinical practice.
