The Department of Communication, Mobility and Identity at LAU’s School of Arts and Sciences is proud to invite you to an especially relevant panel titled How War Impacts Health and Healthcare for Marginalized Communities in Lebanon. Join the open classroom hosted by health communication instructor Dr. Gretchen King to learn about this oft-overlooked aspect of wartime that deserves more attention.

Panel topics will include: 

1) How war impacts the health and healthcare access of marginalized communities. 
2) How the media frames or reports on health and healthcare access for marginalized communities during this war.
3) What challenges need to be addressed through public policies concerning war, heath, healthcare and marginalized communities.

Speakers will include:

  • Sasha Hajj Assaf, President and Executive Director for Justice for Mental Health
  • Sawsan Masri, Country Director for the Taawon Welfare Association
  • Dr. Nadia Badran, Executive Director for the Society for Inclusion and Development in Communities and Care for All (SIDC)
