April 5 & 26, 2026LAU, Beirut Campus, Gezairi Building
The Department of Computer Science & Mathematics and the LAU Math Club invite you to the annual High School Mathematics Contest, a two-day engaging competition that brings together Grade 11 and Grade 12 students with the goal of discovering young talented mathematicians and math enthusiasts.
The contest is organized in two stages:
- First stage: Students are assessed through teams of 3 to 4 individuals on topics in pre-calculus, basic algebra, probability, logic, and geometry. Schools can participate in a maximum of two teams of up to five individuals each. The teams with the top scores are eligible to participate in the following stage.
- Second stage: Held three weeks after stage one, it will see individuals of the winning teams assigned a fairly advanced math topic to research thoroughly on the spot, which they must then present in the presence of LAU faculty members and Math Club members. Up to five individual winners will be selected; the selection is based on the presentation and the knowledge of the topic, and on the demonstrated mathematical skills at play.
Prizes include scholarships for potential Math majors at LAU:
- a. First Prize: 30% Scholarship
- b. Second Prize: 20% Scholarship
- c. Third Prize: 10% Scholarship
Participation is free of charge.
