Maher Attar Photography Donation Ceremony
Lobby, Riyad Nassar Library, LAU Beirut campus

The Institute of Art in the Arab World invites you to a cocktail ceremony celebrating the donation of an iconic photograph to its permanent collection, generously donated by Lebanese photographer Maher Attar.
The 1985 photograph depicts a one-legged mother walking with her injured daughter through war-torn Beirut during the Lebanese Civil War. Featured on the front page of The New York Times, the image became one of the defining visual symbols of the war.
