The LAU-Louis Cardahi Foundation cordially invites you to watch the film D’Istanbul à Beyrouth, de Bagdad au Caire : mille manières d’être moderne, in collaboration with Beirut Art Film Festival (BAFF).
D’Istanbul à Beyrouth, de Bagdad au Caire : mille manières d’être moderne, France, 2025, 60’, Ilana Navarro, French. Istanbul, Beirut, Baghdad, Cairo. From the late 19th century, artists from the former Ottoman Empire set out for Europe to learn new creative techniques. However, this journey will ironically bring them closer to their own sources. In their paintings, they reveal a world of unknown treasures, inventing, on the way, an alternative modernity.
The projection will take place in conjunction with the Night of the Museums, allowing visitors to enjoy both events during the evening’s celebrations.
