Launch of The Cedar Dialogues — Inaugural Debbane Lecture

LAU New York cordially invites you to the launch of The Cedar Dialogues: Lebanon • The Levant • The World, LAU New York’s new flagship forum for intellectual exchange.

The Cedar Dialogues will bring together distinguished voices from academia, diplomacy, business, culture, and public life to explore issues shaping Lebanon, the Levant, and the world.

The series opens with the inaugural Debbane Lecture, delivered by Dr. Bernard Haykel, professor of Near Eastern studies at Princeton University and a leading scholar of the Arabian Peninsula, the Gulf states, and Islamist political movements.

His lecture, “The Future of the Middle East between Revisionist and Status Quo States and Ideologies,” will examine the regional contest between revisionist and status-quo powers and the role of the United States in that dynamic.
