AI and the Future of Health Professions Education

The LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine is organizing a special educational lecture on “AI and the Future of Health Professions Education”, exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping the way healthcare professionals are taught, trained and assessed.
As Artificial Intelligence continues to transform healthcare, its role in health professions education is evolving rapidly. The lecture will examine emerging applications of AI in education, the opportunities and challenges it presents, and how it can be integrated responsibly and ethically into teaching, learning, assessment, and educational research.
The session will be delivered by Dr. Ken Masters who has more than 20 years of experience in health professions education and health informatics, with a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence in medical education. He is the lead author of AMEE Guide No. 178, Artificial Intelligence in Health Professions Education assessment, published in Medical Teacher, providing guidance to health professions educators on navigating the rapidly evolving role of AI in assessment. He serves on the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) Technology-Enhanced Learning Committee, is an Associate Editor of Medical Teacher, and serves on the AAMC International Advisory Committee for Artificial Intelligence. He is also adjunct faculty at the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine.

- Identify opportunities and challenges associated with integrating AI into teaching, learning, assessment, and educational research.
