The Lebanese American University is a multi-campus career-oriented institution which prepares students academically and socially for leadership positions. Founded in 1924 by Presbyterian missionaries, and with two campuses in Beirut and Byblos, LAU has a student body representing over 50 nationalities.
The conference will be held at the Beirut Campus, the oldest, comprising nine buildings surrounding the campus green, which is beautifully landscaped with Mediterranean trees and foliage.
Beirut, Lebanon’s capital, is a coastal city that stands against the university campus as a backdrop of history and modernism. Through the centuries, several civilizations reshaped the city Roman, Byzantine Greek, Arab, Crusader and Ottoman. Modern Beirut, with over 1 million residents, remains the country’s cultural and commercial center, with an active cultural scene, and a vibrant downtown area.
